 Overview by Month

October 2008
We started patrolling the beach the first week of October. It was raining for the first two weeks! The season started very slow; so far we encounter just 5 leatherbacks in Playa Grande and we relocated one nest to the hatchery. We keep patrolling and we hope more turtles start coming soon.

December 2008 
The season started low, but we are having more turtles now. So far 25 females came and nest in Playa Grande, 5 of them were new turtles (tagged in Playa Grande). We have 95 nests on the beach and 4 nests were relocated to the hatchery. The first nest hatch in the hatchery at the end of December, we are expecting the second one anytime soon.
